Upanayanam & traditional ceremonies

An upanayanam is a ritual-heavy function that runs from early morning, and it needs a venue that can accommodate the ceremony properly rather than one that treats it as a booking slot. Homa is permitted in the designated areas of the hall, which is the first question most families ask and the one that decides the venue.

The main hall is centrally air-conditioned and seats 400, with a separate dining hall so that the meal is served in its own room. For a function that starts before dawn and runs through lunch, having the two spaces separate matters — the ritual area stays undisturbed while food is laid out next door.

The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils and set up for vegetarian catering. Our in-house kitchen is available, or your own caterer can use the space; families with a cook they have used for generations of these ceremonies are welcome to bring them.

Because upanayanams draw relatives from out of town, A/C rooms are available in the same building, and rooms are included with the 24-hour and 36-hour packages — 5 + 2 and 6 + 2 respectively. Nobody needs to cross the city at four in the morning to be there for the start.

Many families run the ceremony itself on the Half Day package (12 hours), which covers the early setup, the ritual and the meal after. If the family is arriving the previous evening, the 24-hour package is the more comfortable choice.

The hall is directly opposite the Jayanagar 9th Block old bus stand, with valet parking for around 50 cars. Lift access, 24-hour hot water, changing rooms, generator backup and housekeeping are all on site.
