Naming ceremonies

A namakarana or cradle ceremony is a morning event with a specific shape: the ritual first, the meal after, and a guest list that is almost entirely family. The hall suits it well — 400 seats in a centrally air-conditioned room, arranged close to the stage so that a gathering of 200 or 300 does not feel lost in it.

Homa is permitted in the designated areas of the hall. That matters for a naming ceremony more than for most events, because the ritual is the reason everyone is there, and a venue that cannot accommodate the fire is a venue that forces you to compromise the ceremony.

The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils and set up for vegetarian catering, which is what these functions almost always call for. Use ours or bring your own caterer — both work, and the separate dining hall means the meal is served in its own room while the main hall is cleared or left as it is.

Most naming ceremonies run on the Half Day package: 12 hours, which is comfortably enough for an early-morning setup, the ceremony itself and lunch afterwards. If grandparents or relatives are travelling in the night before, the 24-hour package includes 5 + 2 A/C rooms in the same building.

The location does a lot of work for a morning function. The hall is directly opposite the Jayanagar 9th Block old bus stand, so elderly relatives arriving by bus or auto are set down at the door rather than a walk away, and valet parking covers around 50 cars for everyone else.

Also on site: lift access, 24-hour hot water, changing rooms, generator backup, CCTV and housekeeping.
